Climbing Nabot Léon on the Red Pillar of the Blaitière, Mont Blanc Massif

About me

I am an experienced outdoor instructor based in Glasgow. I started climbing in the Peak District in 1999. Since then I’ve been climbing and walking in many parts of the UK, Europe and Africa. Highlights have included climbing alpine faces in the Mont Blanc Massif, winter routes on Ben Nevis, sea cliffs at Gogarth and mountain crags in the Cairngorms.

In my twenties I completed a degree in English and then a teacher training course. For thirteen years I worked as a primary school teacher in Scotland and England. For the past nine years I have been working as an outdoor instructor in different locations throughout the UK. This has involved teaching people how to go rock climbing, indoor climbing, scrambling, hillwalking and gorge walking.

I hold:

·       the Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor award

·       the Mountain Leader (Summer) award

·       the Rock Climbing Instructor award

·       a valid first aid certificate

·       a public liability insurance certificate.

I have a detailed knowledge of many of the mountains and crags in the UK. If you want to see where I have been climbing recently, please follow this link:
