Improvised Rescue for Climbers

Location: Central Belt of Scotland

What you’ll learn:

• How to ascend a rope

• How to escape the system

• How to do an assisted hoist

• How to do an unassisted hoist

• How to abseil past a knot

• How to lower a climber past a knot

Prerequisites:

• Be able to lead a trad climb safely

• Be able to build a belay at the top of a trad climb

• Be able to belay a second climber at the top of a route

• Be able to belay a lead climber
